Mary Frances Clark, 94, of Rockwell, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 10, at the Rockwell United Methodist Church. Pastor Louie Bram of the First Baptist Church officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Interment was held in the Rockwell Cemetery.

Mary Frances Clark, was born on July 29, 1912 at Windsor, Missouri, the daughter of Marcius Evi and Margaret Genet (Chancellor) Clark. She was the sixth in the family with four brothers and two sisters. When she was three years old her family moved by train to a farm south of Galt. She helped her family on the farm and loved to work with her mother in the garden.

Frances was united in marriage with Lyle William Schroder on August 14, 1930 in Webster City. Lyle passed away on December 30, 1937. Frances continued to farm and raise her family. On December 8, 1939, Frances married Raymond Martin Clark in Macomb, Illinois. They continued farming in the Galt area. In 1973, they sold their farm and moved to Pueblo West, Colorado and in 1980 they moved to Rockwell. Together they moved into the Rockwell Nursing Home in 2000. After 65 years together, Raymond passed away on July 11, 2005. Frances was noted for being a great cook and sewing her own clothes. She also made drapes and sewed many quilts. All of her grandchildren have one to two quilts and she had also made quilts for her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Johnnie Schroder and wife, Pat of Brainerd, Minnesota, Elaine Matykiewicz and husband, Joe of Pueblo West, Colorado, Dennis Clark and wife, Marlys of Fertile, Virginia Hulsing and husband, Don of Rockwell and Arland Clark and wife, Mary Margaret of Spearfish, South Dakota; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Clark of Hemet, California; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three brothers; and two sisters.
