October 12, 2006Galen Adolph Beisner, 65, of Clarion, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, following a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer. A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 7, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Pastor Don Morrison officiated at the 11:00 a.m. service.
Galen Adolph Beisner, was born on April 10, 1941 in Webster City, the son of Frank and Goldie (Schutt) Beisner. After graduating from the Dows High School he began his lifetime occupation as a farmer, interrupted only by the two years he spent serving his country in the United States Army. As a farmer he was proud to have protected the environment through his methods of farming and preservation of the land. Galen is survived by one sister, Jeanne Dawson and husband, Jack of Norwalk; one brother, Jerald Beisner of Clarion; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frank Jr.; and an infant sister, Jeralyn.
