Dorothy Bachman passed away on Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, in Chico. Dorothy was born in Algona, Iowa, to Minor and Alma Sheller on April 17, 1924, the seventh child of a family of eight. Dorothy attended Belmond Iowa School, enjoyed a busy, active life and met her husband when she was a junior in high school. She and Bob Bachman were married March 21, 1944 and enjoyed 62 years of married life.

She is survived by her husband Bob; daughter, Joyce and granddaughter, Kriss Parnell of Portland, Oreg.; daughter, Cathryn, son-in-law, Gary and granddaughter Caitlyn Caruso of Auburn, Calif. and her son, William R. Bachman, of Stockton, Calif. Dorothy was a wife and homemaker, active and talented in Art and Music. She was quite athletic and enjoyed golfing, hiking, bowling and biking. She and her husband were fortunate enough to travel for a number of years in their motor home and visited all 50 of the United States, except two. In addition, they had a lovely trip to New Zeland and Australia on their 50th wedding anniversary and a summer long trip to Alaska. Private Family services are planned for a later date. Memorial Donations may be made to either Enloe Hospital or a favorite charity in care of Newton-Bracewell.
