Carol Diane Kauffman Lived in Short Hills, 81
Mrs. Carol Diane Kauffman, 81, of Palm Desert, Calif., passed away on Dec. 9, 2006. A private memorial service for the family will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Southwest Community Church, 77-701 Fred Waring Dr., Indian Wells, Calif. 92210.Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on July 15, 1925, to James and Emma Mast, Mrs. Kauffman married Dean Kauffman of Eagle Grove, Iowa, in New York City in 1948. An honors graduate of Stephens College, she lived in Short Hills for 45 years before moving to Palm Desert, Calif., in 2002. Mrs. Kauffman was a loving and devoted wife and mother who was adored by her children.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dean, on May 21, 1995, and is survived by four children, Dean Kauffman Jr. of West Orange, Stephen Kauffman of Tucson, Ariz., Kristine Kauffman of Palm Desert, Calif., and Michael Kauffman of Tucson, Ariz., and eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union St., Suite 301, Robbinsville, N.J. 08691.
