O'CONNELL -- Eunice Bernice (nee: Paxton), died from long illness with cancer at home, she was 75 and lived in Pacific Beach. She was born in Galt, Iowa but grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. She completed 14 years of schooling. She leaves her husband of 51 years Captain Daniel J. O'Connell United States Navy Retired. She did volunteer work as a Nurses Aide during World War II subsequent years. She also was in charge of the Navy Relief Thrift Shop in Pearl Harbor in the 1960's. The couple settled in Pacific Beach in 1973, but had lived there off and on, on Navy Orders.

Survivors include 2 sons Patrick and Steve of Pacific Beach, 1 sister Eileen Dunn of Sunnyvale, California, and 4 grandchildren. Visitation Tues. and Wed. from 10 to 5 p.m. Services 11 a.m. Thurs. Dec. 30th. 11 a.m. both at Pacific Beach Mortuary. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the San Diego Hospice. Inurnment Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery. PACIFIC BEACH MORTUARY
