Elmer Larson Jr., 83, of Clear Lake, died Jan. 17, 2001 at Muse Norris Hopsice Inpatient Unit, Mason City. A memorial service will be held in the spring. There will be no visitation. At Elmer's request his remains will be cremated and scattered at sea. Elmer was born June 10, 1917 in Woolstock, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Lila (Miller) Larson. He attended and graduated from school in the Woolstock area. He married Edith I. Knapp Nov. 18, 1937 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. They lived in the Stanhope and Des Moines area. They moved to Eldora, Iowa in 1972 where they owned the Rainbow Lounge. In 1982 they retired and moved to Clear Lake where Elmer enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Elmer is survived by four daughters, Mary Rowland, Cedar Park, Texas, Karen Larson, Boise, Id., Michelle Larsen, Des Moines, and Angela Bradley, Salem, Or.; two sons, Gil Larson, Corona, Calif., and Terry Larson, Boise, Id.; two sisters, Marcella Claude, Webster City, Iowa, and Laura of Texas; two brothers, Charles Larson of Goodell, Iowa, and Dean Larson of Stanhope, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four sisters, and three brothers. Major Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City, was in charge of arrangements.
