Arlene Sullivan, 87, of Webster City, died Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Ryan Christenson officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements were with Foster Funeral and Cremation.

Lula Arlene Claude, daughter of James and Lula Hansen Claude was born on February 22, 1919 on the family farm southeast of Eagle Grove. She received her education in the Troy Center rural school and graduated from Woolstock Public high school in 1936. She also attended A.I.B. at Des Moines for one year. During W.W. II, she worked in Des Moines as a bookkeeper and teller at a bank. On Sept. 18, 1946, she married Robert Paul Sullivan on her parents farm in Wright County. The couple resided at Lake Okoboji for 18 months, then the couple farmed near Duncombe for three years before moving to the Claude family farm where they had farmed for over 35 years.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Paul of Webster City and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, James Clifford Claude; sister, Della Gramblin and niece, Virgene Young. Arlene enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, raising chickens and selling eggs, baking and making friends feel welcome in her home. She was a member of the Eagle Grove United Methodist Church.
