Elmore, Minnesota- Funeral services for Marie G. Goeke, 87, Elmore, were held Monday, Oct. 11, at United Methodist Church in Elmore. The Rev. Cal Daniels officiated. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery in Elmore. Mrs. Goeke died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1993, at Titonka Care Center in Titonka, Iowa. Visitation was Sunday at Patton Funeral Home in Elmore and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Marie Grace Kessel was born Aug. 6, 1906, to Thomas and Nancy (Robinson) Kessel in Wayne County, Ill. She moved to Woolstock, Iowa, and later to Elmore. She attended school near Elmore. She was married to Arthur Goeke on Feb. 6, 1929, in Elmore. Her husband died in 1974. She continued living on the family farm until moving to the Titonka Care Center in June, 1993. She is survived by one son and his wife, Eldon and Joan Goeke, Elmore; two daughters and their husbands, Arlene and Michael Evans, Minneapolis, and Arliss and Frank Ullmann, Buffalo Center, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, four brothers and two sisters.
