Mae Louise Bealmer, 100, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, March 19, 2006, in Rogers. She was born May 23, 1905, in Webster City, Iowa, to Gill Hanken and Mary Lachmiller Hanken. She was raised and educated in Webster City, graduating with the class of 1922. She married Wayne Bealmer on Dec. 31, 1933, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Webster City. The couple lived in Webster City, then moved to Woolstock, Iowa, in 1936. In 1954, they purchased the Woolstock Grocery Store, which they operated for 10 years. She was baptized and confirmed as a Lutheran and was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Woolstock. She had lived in Arkansas since 1986 and attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Bealmer, on Aug. 30, 1964; a granddaughter, Amy Louise Hartwig; and three sisters, Helen Wurch, Hulda Garth and Gertrude Johnson. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Hartwig of Rogers; a brother, Gerald Hanken of Webster City, Iowa; a grandson, Michael Hartwig and his wife Debi Hartwig of Bella Vista, Ark.; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Hartwig and Miles Hartwig, both of Bella Vista; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 23, at the Callison-Lough Chapel. Burial will be held at a later date at the Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, Iowa. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers. Memorials may be made to The Piano Fund at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Rogers, Ark.
