CLARION — James E. Russell, 61, of Clarion, died Monday (Sept. 21, 1998) at the Iowa Methodist Hospital, in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Catholic Church, in Clarion, with the Rev. Wayne Droessler, officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Willim Funeral Home, Clarion, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a vigil service at 7 p.m.

James E. Russell was born Jan. 16, 1937, on a farm south of Eagle Grove. Survivors include his wife, Judy, of Clarion; children, Richard, of Clarion, Kevin, of Chino, Calif.; Kim Jacobson, of Woolstock; Keith, of Clarion; and Eric, of Clarion; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Leo Russell, of Eagle Grove, and Tom Russell, of Twin Lake, Wis.; sisters, Shirley Benton, of Eagle Grove; Marjorie Handley Neville, of San Clemente, Calif., and Kathy Keeling, of Clarion. He was preceded in death by his parents.
