RITES SATURDAY FOR MRS. E.F. JONES

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon October 17th at the Eyler Funeral chapel at Clarion for Mrs. E.F. Jones, 81, who passed away Thursday morning October 15th at the Clarion hospital. Rev. Calvin Milan, pastor of the church conducted the service. Pall bearers were Jay Tice, Eldred Shupe, Bob Sheffield, Homer Mechem, Max Andrews, and Clarence Mikelson. Mrs. B.F. McClelland sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "God Will Take Care of You" accompanied by Mrs. A.M. Andrews. Internment was in the Clarion Evergreen Cemetery. (note by Keri Brewitz, this is incorrect, burial was in Hampton)

Cora Alice Jones was born November 18, 1877 in Sedalia, Missouri and moved to Hampton, Iowa with her parents as a young child. She was married to Elmer F. Jones in 1896 and lived in Hampton until 1912, when they moved to Clarion, where she resided until the time of her death. To this union was bonr five children: a son died in infancy, Hildred (Mrs. D.L. Thomas) Nevada, Iowa; Ralph M. Jones, LaCresent, Minn.; Helen Jones of Clarion and Jessie Mae (Mrs. S.E. Sampson) Great Falls, Montana. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Church of Christ and the Order of Eastern Star of Iowa. Mr. Jones preceded her in death on August 16, 1949. She leaves to mourn her passing one son and three daughters, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 sister Harriet Smith of Minneapolis. Out of town relatives who attended the service for Mrs. Jones, other than immediate family were: Mr. and Mrs. Bob Johnson and family of St. Paul, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Roger Thomas and family of Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thomas and family of Nevada; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Christenson and family of Nevada; Keith Jones of LaCrescent, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Junkuns of Cedar Falls; Mrs. Marie Jones of Cedar Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Perry of Northwood.
