N.D. Soldier is Fatally Hurt as Tree Limb Falls

Struck by a falling tree limb Pvt. Donald R. Thue of Stanton, ND, was fatally injured as he and his sister, Lois, walked along a Sacramento, CA, street. They had just left a Sacramento hotel when the accident occurred. He died without regaining consciousness. The body was returned to Stanton where funeral services have been held. Accompanying the body of to Stanton were his sisters, Lois and Mrs. Clifford Transeth. Private Thue, son of Mr. and Mrs. Iver Thue of Stanton, was born Aug 3, 1920, in Stanton. He was graduated from the Stanton high school and attended the Bottineau School of Forestry, spent two years at NDAC, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, and later studied a the University of North Dakota. Early this year he enlisted in the army signal corps, radio division, and was stationed at Camp Kohler, Calif. Lois Thue, who has been in Seattle, and Mrs. Transeth, the former Evelyn Thue, were visiting him at Sacramento.
