Loughridge Funeral Held Monday P.M.
Influenza and Pneumonia Cause Death of Mrs. Victor Loughridge After Short Illness.

Mrs. Victor A. Loughridge died at her home on South Commercial Avenue on Friday, Nov. 12. She had been ill but a few days from an attack of the influenza which developed into pneumonia and death soon ended her suffering. She came to Eagle Grove soon after her marriage three years ago. Mr. Loughridge represents the Decker Packing Company in this part of Iowa, making Eagle Grove his headquarters. About two years ago they moved to Sheffield for a short time, returning to Eagle Grove to make their home again about a year ago. The sincere sympathy of the many friends of Mr. Loughridge in Eagle Grove and on his territory is extended him in the hour of his great sorrow.

Bessie Marie Clark was born on a farm northwest of Sheffield on Nov. 4, 1907 and passed to her reward at Eagle Grove, Iowa, on Nov. 12, 1932, being 25 years and 8 days of age. She was the daughter of Herbert and Lena Clark and with the exception or seven years residence In Wyoming she lived in Sheffield and vicinity all her girlhood life. On Nov. 30, 1929, she was united in marriage to Victor A. Loughridge. Since her marriage she lived one year in Sheffield and two years at Eagle Grove. A complication made acute by influenza and pneumonia was the cause of her death. Bessie was a member of the Methodist church at Eagle Grove, having transferred her membership when she took up her residence here. Mrs. Loughridge is an alumnus of the Sheffield high school of the class of 1925. She also attended two terms at the Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls. Thus prepared she taught school for three years in the vicinity of Sheffield.

She leaves to mourn her demise, besides her husband, Victor A. Loughridge, her parents, Herbert and Lena Clark, five sisters and one brother, Mrs. Kenneth Coates. Wyman, Iowa, Mrs. Harry Leonard, Mason City, Iowa, Audrey, Venetta, Frankie, Ardice, all of Sheffleld. She also leaves one grandfather, F. E. Clark of Sheffield, three aunts, Mrs. Aaron Raisbeck, New Diggins, Wis., Mrs. Arthur Clark, Austin, Minn., Mrs. Will Marsh, Sheffield, two uncles, Will Marsh; Sheffield and Edward March, New Diggins, Wis. There are also two nieces and three nephews. In her passing goes a loving daughter, sister and wife; a vacant chair has been made by the fireside. No more shall she be there to welcome her husband as he comes home from the day's toil The plans and dreams for the future have been shattered. Tender hearts have been broken. And the heart felt sympathy of many friends goes out to these grief stricken loved ones.
