Lawrence Egemo, Born Aug. 11, 1919, in Rake, he was the son of Weir and Celia Ness Egemo. On June 8, 1946, he married Virginia M. Nichols in Eagle Grove. She died Aug. 8, 2002. Mr. Egemo worked for Boone Valley Co-op for 31 years and Eagle Grove Greenhouse for 15 years. He was a World War II veteran with the 113th Calvary Reconnaissance Squad, serving from 1941 to 1945. He was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sons, Lorin Egemo of Mediapolis and Larry Egemo of Princeton, Texas; two grandchildren; three sisters, Beatrice Burke and Arlene Spangler, both of Eagle Grove, and Marjorie Vorland of Hardy; and three brothers, Arnold Egemo of Waterloo, Bill Egemo of Fort Dodge and Harlan Egemo of Webster City. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. The funeral for Mr. Egemo will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Samuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Stan Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

He was employed at Boone Valley Coop for 31 years and worked at the Eagle Grove Greenhouse for 15 years. He was also a member of the Samuel Lutheran Church. Lawrence was united in marriage to Virginia M. Nichols on June 8, 1946, at Eagle Grove.

Survivors include sons, Lorin and wife, Christie of Mediapolis and Larry of Princeton, Texas; 2 grandchildren, Tara of San Diego, Calfornia and Ryan of Michigan; 3 sisters, Beatrice Burke of Eagle Grove, Arlene Spangler of Eagle Grove, Marjorie Vorland of Hardy and 3 brothers, Arnold Egemo of Waterloo, Bill Egemo of Fort Dodge, and Harlan Egemo of Webster City.

Mr. Egemo passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2003, at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove at the age of 83 years. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife Virginia on August 8, 2002; brothers, Howard and Verner and sisters, Grace and Catherine.
