Virginia May Egemo, 76, of Eagle Grove, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove. Born July 28, 1926, in Eagle Grove, she was the daughter of Jack and Anna Buhner Nichols. On June 8, 1946, she married Lawrence Egemo in Eagle Grove. Mrs. Egemo was a bookkeeper for Wilson & Co. and worked for Eagle Grove Greenhouse. She also was a homemaker. She was a lifelong resident of Eagle Grove and was a 1944 graduate of Eagle Grove High School. She was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church and the church's circle. She was a good cook and enjoyed baking, especially kringla and banana bread. She also played in a 500 Card Club.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Lorin Egemo of Mediapolis and Larry Egemo of Princeton, Texas; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. The funeral for Mrs. Egemo will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, with the Rev. Stan Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.
