Nancy Lemke Kornfeld, 54, of Greenville, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital after a long illness. Born July 5, 1951, the daughter of the late LaVern Frank and Johanna Gerzema Lemke. Prior to her illness, she taught high school English at Travelers Rest High School and Carolina High School. She loved to sing and was a member of the Chamber Singers, the choir of St. Giles Presbyterian Church, where she was a faithful member, and the Circle of Hope Swim Club. Nancy earned a BS from Morningside College, Sioux City, Iowa, and a MA from Clemson University.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Thomas Evans Kornfeld; a daughter, Lacy Kornfeld, and a son, Alexander Kornfeld, both of the home; a brother, Dennis Lemke of Dows, Iowa; two sisters, Judy Gordner of Dows, Iowa, and Linda Kidney of Webster City, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Busholz. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial be made to the St. Giles Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund in Nancy's name, 1021 Hudson Road, Greenville 29615. Harper Memorial Chapel of Taylors is serving the family.
