Diane L. Nielsen, 58, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in the Marengo Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Belle Plaine High School gymnasium, by the Rev. David Crow. Inurnment: 3 p.m. Sunday, Fairview Cemetery, Dows. There will be no visitation; her body was cremated. Arrangements are with Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine.

She is survived by husband, Robert; son, Todd (Parvin) of Coralville; three daughters, Joleen (Kurt) Lynch of Albion, Kim (Juan) Roque of Winona, Minn., and Angela (Brad) Glandorf of Marengo; brother, Dean (Penny) Worden of Hampton; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Travis, Emily, Madalyn, Katie, Olivia and Hailey; two nieces; two nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Margaret Worden, and a nephew.

Diane was raised in rural Dows, Iowa. She married Robert in 1960 and settled in Belle Plaine. She was the food service director of the Belle Plaine Community School District. Diane shared her love and cooking with many people. She was a caring wife, wonderful mother and loving grandmother. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
