Kathryn Hagie West, 63, of Barrington, Illinois, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 4, 2006. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 8, at the Willowcreek Community Church in Barrington, Illinois. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Clarion. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Northeastern, Illinois, 410 Hager Avenue, Barrington, Illinois 60610.

Kathryn Hagie graduated from the University of Iowa and held a Master's Degree from Concordia University. She taught in the Illinois District 220 and retired in 1997. Kathie was a member of the Fox River Valley Pony Club, the Barrington Hills Riding Club, served on several philanthropic organizations, and was a member of PEO. She was active in the equestrian community, enjoyed gardening and all her animals.

Survivors include her husband, Ted M. West; two children, Angela West of Antioch, Illinois and Kristen (John Panko) West of Chicago, Illinois; one granddaughter; parents, Ray and June Hagie of Clarion; a sister, Margaret Severino (Frank); a brother, John and wife, Barb of Clarion; and many nieces and nephews.
