Lucille Ruth Duitscher, 88, of Clarion, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at the Wright Medical Center under Hospice care in Clarion. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 24, at the United Presbyterian Church, Goldfield. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.

Lucille Ruth Trotter was born on July 3, 1917, near Goldfield, the daughter of Glen and Bessie McCutcheon Trotter. She graduated from the Eagle Grove High School, where she received her normal training to teach in 1934. On January 12, 1938, Lucille was united in marriage with Delmar W. Duitscher at the home of her parents in Goldfield. They farmed northeast of Goldfield until 1953 and then moved to a farm northwest of Clarion. Lucille and Delmar retired from farming in 1982 and moved into Clarion in 1987. Delmar passed away on January 30, 1993. Lucille moved from her home in Clarion to the Meadows Senior Living in 2002 and into the Meadows Assisted Living in 2006, where she was presently residing. Lucille was a member of the Goldfield United Presbyterian Church. Throughout the years she enjoyed belonging to UPW, Emma Henry Circle, So-Sew Club, D.E.L.L., Friendly Neighbor Club, bridge clubs, White Shrine and the Order of the Eastern Star. Cooking, baking and entertaining for her family and friends were highlights of Lucille's life.

She is survived by three children, Dean Duitscher and wife, Melvene of Rolfe, Karen Chapman and husband, Stanley of Woolstock and Marcia Zach and husband, Larry of Ankeny; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Bette Christensen and husband, Jerry of Goldfield; two sisters-in-law, Anna Trotter of Urbandale and Barbara Duitscher of Clear Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delmar; and one brother, Bernard Trotter.
