Ruth C. Lynner, 86, formerly of Belmond, died June 9, 2002 at her Des Moines home. Funeral services were held June 12 at Dunn's Funeral Home with burial at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. Ruth was born in Remsen. She grew up in Belmond and graduated from Cornell College and Drake University. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, P.E.O., League of Women Voters, Wakonda Club, Des Moines National Poetry Festival, and Friends of the Library in Tarpon Springs, Florida. She enjoyed reading and golf and spent her winters in Palm Harbor, Florida.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Darwin Lynner, and grandson, Matthew Nevai. Survivors are her daughters, Lucia Nevai of Maiden Bridge, New York and Nancy Lynner of Providence, Rhode Island; sons, Brian Lynner and Tom Lynner, both of Des Moines; sisters, Nina Courson of Porto Ercole, Italy and Dorothy McNeal of Cedar Falls; and nine grandchildren.
