Sarah C. Oberhauser, 31, of West College Corner, Indiana, was killed in an automobile accident, Saturday morning, January 26, 2002 near Oxford, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated January 30, 2002, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset, Ohio with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial services will be held in Oxford Friday, February 1, 2002.

Sarah C. Oberhauser was born June 28, 1970 in Belmond, the daughter of Paul W. and the late Jane Ann Hickman Oberhauser (who died in 1971). Sarah was a 1988 graduate of Sheridan High School, where she was all-state in track, cross country and basketball, and was class valedictorian. She was a 1994 graduate of Miami University, received her teaching certificate and began teaching science at Talawanda High school in Oxford, Ohio. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset.

She was preceded in death by her mother; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Martha Hickman; and paternal grandparents, Louis and Marion Oberhauser. Survivors are her father and step-mother, Paul and Sue Oberhauser of Somerset; children, Megan and Drew VanWinkle, at home; the children's father, Kevin VanWinkle of West College Corner; four sisters, Amy Oberhauser of Versailles, Kentucky, Janelle (Darrel) Finck of Thornville, Ohio, Nancy (James) Walchanowicz of Olmsted Twp., Ohio, and Elizabeth (Troy) Severson of Belmond; four brothers, Paul B. Oberhauser of Massachusetts, Roger (Crystal) Oberhauser of Utica, Ohio, Peter (Anna) Oberhauser of Trimble, Ohio and David Oberhauser of Fayette, Arkansas; and a special friend, Ted Maxwell of College Corner.
