Samuel C. Osier, 40, died as the result of accident near his home in Van Meter on Sat, April 10, 2004. A Time of Remembrance will be at 7 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2004 at Caldwell-Raddatz Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Rd, Urbandale, IA. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. also on Friday at the funeral home.

Sam was born May 18, 1963 in Cedar Falls. He met his wife, Toni, in Waterloo in 1982 while he attended Hawkeye Tech. They were married June 7, 1986 in Rowan, IA. Sam and Toni moved to Des Moines in 1989 and then to Van Meter in 1997. Sam was a Maintenance Manager for Waste Connections of Iowa. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed hunting, hiking mountain trails and riding his Harley. Sam is survived by his wife, Toni and three children: daughters, Chanci and Marina and son, Alex all from Van Meter. Also surviving are his father, Jerald Osier (Beverly Millang) of Story City; mother Marjorie Nelsen Osier of Rowan; brother David Osier (Shari) of Bondurant; sister Karen Smith (Michael) of Belmond; brother Walt Osier of Salem; cousins Tom Osier (Shelley) of Nevada and Tony Osier of Northfield, MN. Samuel C. Osier, 40, formerly of Rowan, died on Saturday, April 10, 2004, as the result of an accident near his home in Van Meter, Iowa. Osier was killed when a drunk driver struck him as he and several family members were walking along the side of a road near their home. A time of remembrance will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Friday, April 16, at the Caldwell-Raddatz Funeral Home, 8201 Hickman Road, Urbandale. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m., on Friday at the funeral home.
