Gertrude Schoolmeester, 93, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at the Pipestone County Medical Center in Pipestone, Minn. Gertrude Hendricks was born Aug. 11, 1907, in Wright County, Iowa. She moved with her family to Leota, Minn., where she grew up and attended Christian school. She married Edward Schoolmeester on Sept. 28, 1928, in Edgerton, Minn. The couple lived in Edgerton. Her husband died in 1986. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Edgerton, and the Ladies Society. Survivors include two daughters: Viola Van Essen of Littleton, Colo., and Lavonne Wystra of Martin, Mich. a son, Virgil of Edgerton 11 grandchildren 25 great-grandchildren a brother, Rev. Henry De Mots and a sister, Nellie Schmidt. Services begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Reformed Church in Edgerton with burial in the Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Colonial Funeral Home in Edgerton.
