Georgia Mae Humphrey, 75, of Goldfield, died August 15, 2002. Funeral services were held Monday, August 19th at the Willim Funeral Home in Clarion. Pastor Gary Boen officiated at the 10 a.m. service. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements. Georgia Mae Scribner was born October 27, 1927, in LuVerne, the daughter of George H. and Josephine (Hurt) Scribner. After the death of her father in 1931, the family moved to Algona where Georgia graduated from the Algona High School in 1945. On April 25, 1946 Georgia and Robert L. Humphrey were united in marriage in Algona. The couple moved to Clarion in 1954. In addition to raising six children, Georgia worked at various retail jobs in the Clarion area. After the death of Robert in 1979, Georgia married Merle D. Humphrey on April 23, 1982, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Harker Heights, Texas for 14 years before moving to Goldfield in 1995 to be closer to their family. She is survived by her husband, Merle of Goldfield; one daughter, Monna Gardalen and husband, Dennis of Clarion; three sons, Randy Humphrey and wife, Sandra of Mason City, Douglas Humphrey and wife, Donna of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Don Humphrey of Belmond; daughter-in-law, Lori Humphrey of Clarion; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Boyce of Walnut Grove, Illinois, Bernice Hugeland of Algona, Betty Peterson of Algona; two brothers, Merle Scribner of Des Moines and Ed Scribner of Escondido, California and many nieces and nephews. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; daughter, Lynn Marie; son, Mitchell and three sisters and two brothers.
