ElVena J. Anderson, age 82, of Clarion, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at the USA Healthcare Center in Dows. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 at Willim Funeral Home in Clarion with Rev. LaVonne Kaasa of the Clarion First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery. ElVena June (Hawe) Anderson, the daughter of John and Myrtle (Rinehart) Hawe, was born on June 22, 1919 at Hampton. She attended school and graduated from Dows High School in 1938. On January 26, 1941, ElVena was united in marriage with Sven Anderson at the Methodist parsonage in Clarion. The couple farmed in Wright and Franklin Counties. During that time, ElVena helped Sven on the farm and she tended to their home and family. In 1973, after retiring from the farm, the couple moved into Clarion. While living in Clarion, ElVena worked as a sales clerk at both Skogmos Department Store and later at Karen's Clothing Store. She was a member of the Clarion First United Methodist Church and in her spare time, she enjoyed her family, knitting, country music and find-a-word puzzles. Survivors include her husband, Sven of Clarion; one daughter, Beverly Claude and her husband, Francis of Clarion; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Louis Hawe and his wife, Bernadine of Garner and two nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
