Robert Wigg, 61, of Clarion, died Friday, April 13, 2001, at Community Memorial Hospital, Clarion. Funeral services were held Monday, April 16, at the Church of Christ in Clarion. Michael Whaley officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in Lake Lutheran Cemetery, rural Renwick. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements.

Robert Wigg was born May 4, 1939, at Clarion, the son of H. Racine and Estella Smith Wigg. He attended school at Clarion. On November 26, 1961, he and Imogene Heggen were united in marriage at the Church of Christ in Clarion. He worked in the construction of grain elevators and feed mills for Younglove Construction, Lambert Hamlin Construction, and Todd and Sargent Construction. He also worked for Hagie Manufacturing for a few years before working at Todd and Sargent Construction. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and served in all branches, Rebekah Lodge, Encampment and Canton Grand Patriarch of the Grand Encampment of Iowa from 1999-2000. He was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and the Clarion Church of Christ. He enjoyed calling Bingo, hunting, fishing, traveling, and especially spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his four children, Richard Wigg and wife, Angel of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Katheryn Wigg of Farmingville, New York, Nickolene Sorensen and husband, Alan of Ankeny, Heather Wigg of Montrose, Minnesota; four grandchildren; three sisters, Marjorie Trees of Belmond, Donna Orte of Clarion and Phyllis Arthur of Mason City, and many other relatives and friends.
