Florence Bernice Anderson, 84, of Clarion, died Thursday, December 20, 2001, at the USA Healthcare Center, Clarion. Funeral service were held Thursday, December 27th at First Lutheran Church, Clarion. Pastor Gary Boen officiated at the 10 a.m. service. Burial was in Holmes Lutheran Cemetery, rural Holmes. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements. Florence Bernice Vroman was born May 18, 1917, in Radcliffe, the daughter of Carl and Bertha (Olson) Vroman. She was raised in Goldfield where she attended school. On June 15, 1935, Florence was united in marriage with Morris Anderson in Mason City. The couple made their home north of Holmes where they farmed. After a few years, Morris took a job working for the railroad and the family moved closer to Clarion. Morris passed away on August 11, 1986, and Florence remained in her home for a short while. She moved into the Southtown Apartments where she resided for over 10 years until she entered USA Health Care Center in Clarion. Florence was active at First Lutheran where she spent time quilting and participating in Sew Day and church circle. She was a member of the Clarion Senior Citizens, Wright County Antique Club, and was an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Clarion Historical Society.

Survivors include four children; Robert Anderson and wife, Karen of Prole, Patricia Nigg and husband, Ron of Clarion, Roger Anderson and wife, Julie of Clarion, Paula Erickson and husband, Stan of Eagle Grove; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Kiley and Ruby Nelson, both of Kanawha. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and three sisters.
