Ansley Orin Stromley was born on June 26, 1911, in rural Kensett, the son of Martin and Carrie (Bergo) Stromley. He was baptized and reaffirmed the faith of his baptism through confirmation at First Lutheran Church in Northwood. Ansley was educated in the Northwood Schools.

After completing his schooling, he and his brother, Kenneth, owned and operated a dairy farm and also raised crops in the Northwood and Joice area. Ansley and his brother, Kenneth, were one of the first ones to own a threshing machine in the area, and also did custom baling for area farmers. Together, Ansley and Kenneth farmed over 70 years.

Ansley was inducted into the U.S. Army on Dec. 4, 1942, and served with the 690th Ordnance Ammunition Co. during World War II, and was honorably discharged on Aug. 4, 1943, at Romulus, N.Y.

Ansley loved taking care of his dairy farm and was a member of the Brown Swiss Cattle Association.

Ansley was also a member of First Lutheran Church in Northwood, and Farming of Yester Years Threshing Club in Kiester, Minn.

Left to cherish his memory is a sister, Myrtle Banken, of Mason City, and several nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

His parents; two sisters, Inborg Peterson and Ruby Stromley; his brother, Kenneth Stromley; and two brothers-in-law, Ole Banken, and Milton Peterson, preceded him in death.
