A German names Adam Frank got off a Burlington Cedar Rapids & Northern railway car at Manly Junction recently and bought a ticket for Davenport. He told the agent that he had been at work on the railroad in the county with a partner whom he called Mason, that they had started for St. Louis, and that his partner had run off with $63 of his money. He telegraphed from Manley to St. Louis to his brother for money, but receiving no answer became despondent, and the next day he was found hanging dead in a warehouse near the depot.

T. Boughton, coroner]
