Dorothy Margaret Trappe, 75, of Manly, died Monday (March 18, 1996) at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Min.
A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manly with Father Thomas McAndrew officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Manly.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday with a public Scripture rosary at 5:30 p.m. at the Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 East Spring St., Manly.
The family of Dorothy Margaret Trappe has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manly in her memory.
Dorothy Margaret Trappe was born on Feb. 2, 1921, the daughter of George and Susan (Rolfes) DeSotel in Guttenberg.
She attended and received her education in the Catholic school system, graduating from the Guttenberg Catholic High School in 1938.
After completing her education, she worked as a bookkeeper in a Chevrolet garage in Guttenberg.
She was united in marriage to Elmer Trappe on May 6, 1946, in Wisconsin.
After their marriage, they farmed primarily in the Mason City and Manly area.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and of various ladies church circles in Manly.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Elmer Trappe of Manly; five sons, Edward Trappe and his wife, Cathy, of Eagle River, Alaska; Roger Trappe and his wife, Candy, of Albert Lea, Minn.; Dennis Trappe and his wife, Ellen, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Victor Trappe and his wife, Mary, of Carmel, Ind., and Thomas Trappe and his wife, Cheryl, of Rock Falls; two daughters, Linda Schreiber and her husband, Tim, of St. Cloud, Minn,. and Patricia Waters and her husband, Don, of Oelwein; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leo DeSotel of Guttenberg, Mark DeSotel and his wife, Alice, of New Vienna, and Geroge DeSotel and his wife, Marge, of Latimer, as well as other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Anastacia Frommelt, Leona Wieser and Mildred Wernke.
Pallbearers will be her sons, Edward Trappe, Roger Trappe, Dennis Trappe, Victor Trappe and Thomas Trappe. Honorary pallbearers will be her two daughters, Patricia Waters, and Linda Schreiber and their spouses, Tim Schreiber and Don Waters.
