"Mrs. Elizabeth Yezek passed away Feb 9, 1929, and on Feb. 11, 1929, a host of sorrowing friends paid tribute to her when obsequies were conducted at Sacred Heart Church. Solemn requiem Mass was celebrated by the very Rev. Gus Ehl, who was assisted by the very Rev. Dean of Mason City, P.S. O'Conner as deacon, the Rev. Kruger as Sub-Deacon and the Rev. Bacci as Master of Ceremonies. Rev. Ehl also preached the funeral sermon, taking for his subject the 'Need of Religion to make a man truly honest, good and happy'. These qualities were prominent in the life of Mrs. Yezek up to the time of her death (in her 92nd year). She preserved her faith, lived it under trying circumstances. Her devotion to duty, her kind words and deeds, her love for her church, her good example, were a source of inspiration to everyone who knew her and everyone knew her as she was the oldest member of Sacred Heart Parish, having settled in Worth County 71 years ago. ... After the death of her husband in 1909, she came to live near the church and when at all able, she was a daily attendant at Holy Mass and daily communion. Strenthened by the grace of the last sacraments, she passed away and it can truly be said of her that she is blessed because 'she died in the Lord.'"

Family information concerning Elizabeth's death was furnished by Vera Poppe of Plymouth, IA, given to her by Genevieve Hebel Johnson. Information was written by Adolph Yezek, unknown date.
Burial: February 11, 1929, Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Manly, Worth, IA
