Russell Dale Ober, 63 of Leesburg, GA, died Friday, November 18, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. The memorial service was held Monday, November 21, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Kimbrell-Stern with visitation preceding the service at 1:00. Pastors Bill Diamond and Charles Thompson will officiate.
Born in Lehigh, Iowa, Mr. Ober moved to Dawson, Georgia, in 1973, and had lived in Lee County since 1999. He graduated from high school in Ft. Dodge, IA and received a B.S. from Iowa State University and a Masters Degree in Fishery Biology from the University of North Dakota. He was employed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Management for thirty one years. Mr. Ober was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Saviour. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Ober of Lee County, a daughter, Erika Livermont and her husband, James of Stockbridge, GA, a son, Christoffer Ober of Leesburg, GA, two grandchildren, Emmaline and Aidan Livermont. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Fern Ober and two brothers, Harold Ober and Laurence Ober. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, P. O. Box 72366, Albany, GA 31708.
