Memorial services for Delores Foss, age 79 Albert lea, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be at Deer Creek Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Delores died peacefully Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at her home.
Delores Elaine Foss was born February 28, 1934 in Austin, MN to Loy and Marie (Winter) Machacek. She was baptized and confirmed at Deer Creek Valley Lutheran Church. Delores grew up on the family farm in London Township and attended District 51 School in Freeborn County. Delores was united in marriage to Archie Foss on August 10, 1957 in Austin Wayside Chapel, rural Austin. In 1980 Archie and Delores moved to Colorado and returned in 1999. Delores was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She enjoyed her many years a homemaker. Delores loved children and had an in-home daycare. Delores was wonderful at making bread and won many blue ribbons at the fair. She also enjoyed fishing, canning and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband Archie; daughters Lori (Richard) Nelson and Linda (Robert) Reamon; granddaughters Jillayna (Matt) Weyers, Nicole, Kyla and Jessica Reamon and Mollie Nelson; great-grandson Miles Weyers; brothers Ronald (Beverly), Daryl (Dorothy), Verne (Nancy), DeLyle (Sue) and Kevin (Debbie); sister-in-law Olga Beach and many nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law Lawrence, Edward and Jay (Myra) Foss and Bob Beach.
