Manly - Jerome A. Samec, 75, of Manly, passed away on Saturday (October 7, 2017) at Muse Norris Hospice - Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, (October 12, 2017) at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 Spring Street, Manly. Burial will be in Manly Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:30a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, (October 12, 2017) at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Jerome A. Samec, was born March 4, 1942 on the family farm near Schley, Iowa. He was the son of Alois and Adella (Hosek) Samec. He attended country school up until eighth grade, and worked various jobs to help support his family. Jerome was united in marriage to Bonnie on February 11, 1967 and to this union two children were born. Jerome and Bonnie celebrated 50 years together this past February.
He worked on farms throughout the years, with most recent being Holden Farms and Fritz Farm.
Jerome enjoyed John Deere Tractors, watching westerns and game shows, and spending time with family and friends.
Jerome is survived by his wife, Bonnie Samec, of Manly; two children, Tammie Samec, of Manly, Michael Samec, of Waterloo; grandson, Cody (Fiancee – Leah Peel) Samec, of Des Moines; and four-legged friend, Charlie; two sisters, Darlene (Matt) Andera, of Spillville, and Delores (Kenny) Nehl, of New Hampton.
Jerome is preceded in death by his parents, Alois and Adella Samec; brother, Virgil (Marlene) Samec; and four-legged friend, Pooh-Bear and Brady Sam.
