Laura A. Johnson, 95, of Manly, died Saturday (Aug. 19, 1995) at the Manly Care Center. Visitation is from 4 to 8 tonight at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 Spring St., and one hour prior to services at the church Tuesday. Memorials may be given to the Laura A. Johnson Memorial Fund in her memory.

Mrs. Johnson was born July 7, 1900, at Grafton, a daughter of Fred Wahl and Ida Wahl (nee) Gottschalk. She married Herman Schmidt on Feb. 23, 1918, at Grafton. Herman died Dec. 24, 1964. She later married Raymond L. Johnson on May 12, 1978, at Northwood. Raymond died March 27, 1990.

She was baptized and confirmed by the Rev. John Landdeck at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton.

Laura worked as a cook at the Grafton School for a number of years, and later cooked at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood. She and her husband, Herman, owned and operated the former Hiway Grill in Manly. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Manly.

Survivors include four daughters, Marcella Braun and her husband, Armand, St. Ansgar, Luetta Walk and her husband, Lloyd, Kensett, Rosalyn Allen and her husband, Ralph, Marshalltown, and Marilyn Murra and her husband, John, Buffalo Center; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dora Bentzin, Manly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a daughter, Luella Schmidt; and a brother, Walter Wahl.
