Sharon M. Sanderson, 61, of Manly, died Friday, November 28, 2003, at her home.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Bride Colonial Chapel, Manly, with the Rev. Robert Cummings of the Bethel United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery in Grafton.

Sharon Mae, the daughter of Alfred and Tena (Wirtjes) Schmidt, was born April 12, 1942, at Osage, IA. Sharon was baptized and confirmed at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton.

She graduated from Manly High School and then attended North Iowa Area Community College, where she received her nursing degree.

She then worked for the Manly Nursing Home for several years. She later worked for Fieldstone Cabinetry.

In her younger years, Sharon enjoyed bowling and fishing. More recently she enjoyed visiting with family and friends, knitting, reading, and doing crossword puzzles.

Sharon is survived by one sister, Dorothy Mensch of Manly; one brother, Richard (Helen) Schmidt of Osage; one sister-in-law, Ruth Schmidt of Manly; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Dorothea Schmidt and Viola Bentzen, and two brothers, Henry and Dennis Schmidt.
