Eugene R. Bruesewitz, age 88, of Grafton, died Friday, August 16, 2013, at the Manly Nursing and Rehab Center in Manly.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton with Pastor Solveig A.H. Zamzow officiating. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.

Gene was born October 7, 1924, in Grafton, the son of Alfred and Elenora (White) Bruesewitz. He was educated in Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School in 1943. Gene married Connie Olsen on February 9, 1947, in Albert Lea, MN. The couple lived their entire married life in Grafton. Along with his father and son, Gene farmed, owned and operated Bruesewitz Chevrolet, the Allis-Chalmers Dealership, and Grafton Oil Company. He was an active and lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Connie Bruesewitz of Grafton, his daughter, Koral (James) Rosendahl and their son Jimmy, all of Estherville; his son, Keven (Sandy) Bruesewitz of Grafton and their children, Raechel of Grafton and Holly of Clear Lake; his daughter, Jurene (Jeff) Wegner and their children, Michael and Lauren, all of Omaha, NE; and a niece, Laurel (Pete) Lagoni of Fort Collins, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Gilman Olsen, Jr.
