Dennis G. Dahl, age 75, of rural Northwood, formerly of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, died November 25, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea, MN.

A memorial service was held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Emmons Lutheran Church in Emmons, Minnesota, with Rev. Christopher W. Martin officiating.

Dennis Gary Dahl was born on December 1, 1937, in Winnebago County, Iowa, the third son of Lawrence and Viola “Bobbie” (Halvorson) Dahl. He graduated from Emmons High School in 1955, after which he served three years in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, Dennis attended and graduated from Mankato State University,. He began his teaching career in Frost, MN, for four years, then in North St. Paul-Maplewood schools for 28 years.

On November 2, 1963, Dennis was married to Kathleen Rasmusson. They lived in Frost, Maplewood, and White Bear Lake, Minnesota. After some years of retirement, Dennis and Kathy moved to the Emmons area; winters were spent in Mission, Texas.

Dennis was an avid outdoors person who loved hunting, fishing, golfing, trimming trees, and keeping a meticulous yard.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy of rural Northwood, IA; a son Michael (Marge) Dahl of Madison, AL; grandchildren Ryan and Lise; special nephews, Greg (Dawnn) of South St. Paul, MN, and David (Kerri) of Emmons, MN; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Robert and Lynn; and a grandson Matthew.
