Joran Gundersdatter (named after a sister who died in infancy) was born July 30, 1829 at Rollag, Buskerud, Norway to Gunder Gundersen and Live Petersdatter, the fifth of their nine children. She was baptized on September 13, 1829 at Rollag.

Joran married Knud Eriksen on August 19, 1848 at Rollag, Buskerud, Norway. (Knud Eriksen born June 30, 1817 at Buskerud, Norway to Erik Svenningsen and Kjersti Johnsdatter; baptized July 2, 1817 at Rollag; emigrated March 24, 1866 to America, died between 1872-1880 probably in Iowa.)

Joran (Jane) Gundersdatter Eriksen (Erickson) died May 3, 1912 at Bristol, Worth, Iowa and is buried at the Sion Lutheran Cemetery, Bristol, Worth, Iowa. The cemetery is located next to the Sion Lutheran Church, on Highway 105, in section 1 of Bristol Township. Buried at Erikson/Johnson plot.
