Charles D. Kruse, 62, of Houston, an automobile mechanic, died Sunday, January 10, 1999, at Franciscan Skemp Health Care Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
He was born May 9, 1936, in Worth County, Iowa, and grew up in LeRoy and graduated from LeRoy High School. On August 30, 1975, he married Lois Frauenkron in Houston. His life revolved around cars and he was an auto mechanic all his working life. He worked in LeRoy and Rochester and was a GM-certified mechanic in LaCrosse. He had lived in Houston since 1980.
He was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles W. of Houston; a grandson; a brother, Glenn of Mabel; and four sisters, Irene Carr of Mabel, Gail Shellsted of Mazeppa, Helen Johnson of Rochester and Jackie Root of the Twin Cities area.
The funeral was held Tuesday at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Rev. Mark M. Rydberg officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
