Louis E. Glassel, 74, of Grafton, died Friday, August 23, 1985, at a Rochester, MN hospital.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton, with the Rev. Fames Fladland officiating. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.

Mr. Glassel was born September 26, 1910, in Union Township, Worth County, to Emil and Addie (Bartz) Glassel.

He was a retired farmer having farmed in the Plymouth and Grafton areas. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lawrence; a sister, Alma Borchardt; his first wife Wilma Trettin, and his second wife, Dorothy Pirkl Glassel.

He spent his retirement years at Rockport, TX; coming back to Iowa in January.

Survivors include one son, Clyde (Ellen) Glassel, Grafton; one stepson Paul Pirkl, Mason City; one stepdaughter, Pat (James) Goebel, Hereford, TX; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren
