Funeral services for longtime Grafton resident Irene Homes, 63, were held Saturday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton. Mrs. Homes died Wednesday, October 20, 1982, at Grafton.
The Rev. Gary Panko officiated. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.
Mrs. Homes was born December 13, 1918, in Worth County, the daughter of Alfred and Katherine (Rademaker) Walk. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1939. On January 24, 1954, she married Sidney Homes.
She worked at a Grafton meat market and was later employed at Decker's packinghouse in Mason City. She and her husband owned the Doo Drop Inn in Manly for many years. Most recently, Mrs. Homes worked as a cook at the Gobbler's Roost Restaurant in Grafton.
Survivors include a son, Douglas, Northwood; a daughter, Janet, Mason City; and three brothers, Rueben and LaVern Walk, both of Grafton, and Ernest Walk, Vinton.
