SELMA G. BEYER

NORTHWOOD - Selma G. Beyer, 93, of Northwood, died Monday (Jan. 15, 2001) at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Kenneth Hatland officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held an hour before service time at the church today. Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Selma G. Beyer Memorial Fund.

Mrs. Beyer was born May 7, 1907, near Carpenter, Iowa, the daughter of Ole L. and Mary (Knutson) Anderson. She graduated from Carpenter High School and Hamilton Business College.

She moved to Mason City in 1926, and married Glenn A. Beyer on June 16, 1937, in Mason City.

Selma worked in the dietary department at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital for a short time.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and church circle and enjoyed needlework and quilting.

Selma is survived by two sons, Ronald Beyer and his wife, Mildred "Millie" of Fertile, and Allen Beyer and his wife, Karen, of Green Bay, Wis.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Valetta Anderson of Northwood and Helen Christiansen of Mason City; and several nieces and nephews.

Selma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and one sister.
