BUELAH LOUISE HOVE
NORTHWOOD, IOWA - Buelah Louise Hove, 90, of Northwood, died Saturday (Dec. 5, 1999) at the Manly Nursing & Rehab Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at the United Methodist Church, 1000 First Ave N., Northwood, with the Rev. Richard Jensen officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to service time on Saturday at the church.
Conner Colonial Chapel in Northwood is in charge of the arrangements.
Buelah Louise Hove was born on April 26, 1909, in Dahlgren, Ill., the daughter of James and Florence Ada (Dollins) Lee. At an early age her family moved to Northwood, where she attended and received her education in rural Deer Creek School system and graduated from Northwood High School.
She was united in marriage to Thomas Hove on May 23, 1927, in Northwood. He preceded her in death in 1964. After their marriage they spent five years and homesteaded in Athabasca, Canada, before moving to Northwood where they farmed southwest of Northwood. They also owned and operated Buelah's Restaurant in Northwood for many years, and she also worked as a waitress for various restaurants and the grocery store in Northwood until her retirement.
She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, canning and traveling to Canada with her husband.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist's Women's Circle; she was a member for more than 50 years with "Our Buddies" VFW Memorial Post #6779 Ladies Auxiliary, all in Northwood.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, LaVon Hove and his wife, Pat, of Gig Harbor, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Harry (Mena) Johnson, of Northwood; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Mike "Cowboy Joe" Carrott and his wife, Virginia, of Clear Lake and Sharon Lindsay of Clear Lake; as well as other relatives and friends.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harry Lee; and one sister, Alta Saltau.
