H. KIRCHGATTER DIES AT 76, THURSDAY RITES
Northwood – Herman Kirchgatter, 76, died at his home here Monday. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, preceded by a family prayer service in the church basement. The Rev. Otto Staehling will officiate. Burial will be in St. Ansgar Cemetery with Conner Funeral Home in charge.
Born February 4, 1885, at St. Ansgar, he was married to the former Selma Grap. They farmed west of St. Ansgar until moving to Northwood 11 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. George (Alice) Smith, Manteca, Calif.; Mrs. Roy (Ruth) Braun, Waterloo; Mrs. Elmer (Doris) Hanson, St. Ansgar; two sons, Lloyd, Livermore, Calif.; LaVerne, Plymouth; 16 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Emil Grap, Nora Springs.
