EVELYN M. RUMBLEY

MANLY, IOWA - Evelyn M. Rumbley, 90, of Adel, Iowa, formerly of Manly, died Saturday, August 4, 2001, at the Adel Acres Care Center in Adel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, at the Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 Spring Street, Manly, with Rev. Richard Jensen of the United Methodist Church in Northwood officiating. Burial will be in the Manly Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Bride Colonial Chapel, and will continue one hour prior to service time on Tuesday.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Bethel United Methodist Church in Manly.

Evelyn Margaret (Everson) Rumbley, the daughter of Ole and Anna (Sanvik) Everson, was born on April 28, 1911, in Silver Lake Township. She attended and graduated from Lake Mills High School. After graduation she helped her family with the boarding house they operated in Lake Mills.

On Sept. 2, 1933, Evelyn was united in marriage with Theodore A. Rumbley at Manchester, Iowa. The couple made their home in Manly, where Ted worked for the Fullerton Lumber Company, and Evelyn kept busy tending to her home and family.

Evelyn always enjoyed her friends and she spent many mornings visiting with them at regular coffee groups. She was also an avid bird watcher. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Manly, where she remained active in circle. Evelyn golfed, bowled, and belonged to the Manly Kitchen Band, Manly Birthday Club, Mystery Circle, and Card Club.

Survivors include her son, Nolan Rumbley and his wife, Jan of Clive; two grandchildren, Naomi Zepeda and her husband, Lance of Cedar Rapids, and Jon Rumbley and his wife, Cathy, of Philadelphia, Pa; two great grandchildren, Samuel and Hanna Zepeda, both at home in Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore in 1998; six sisters; and two brothers.
