NORTHWOOD, IOWA - Lillian Inez (Anderson) Pixley, 82, died peacefully on Wednesday (Nov. 4, 2009) at Good Shepherd Home in Mason City, surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at the First Lutheran Church, Northwood, with the Rev. Daniel Hart officiating. Burial will be at the State Line Cemetery, rural Northwood.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Saturday at the church.

Lillian was born Nov. 5, 1926, to Helmer and Lena (Leegaard) Anderson in Freeborn County, Minn. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith and attended rural schools in Worth and Freeborn counties.

She was united in marriage to John W. Pixley June 24, 1944, and from this union there were six children born. John and Lillian farmed for a few years. Lillian spent most of her years being a mother and housewife. She loved to walk uptown and visit with friends and family. She also enjoyed the trips to California to see their son, Mike.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dennis, of Plymouth, Minn.; Sharon (Dennis) Peterson, of Mason City, Galen (Karen), of Northwood, Earl, of Chicago, Ill.; Mike, of Palm Dale, Calif.; and daughter-in-law Fran, of Northwood; grandchildren, Todd Pixley, of Austin, Minn.; Tammy (Scott) Severson, of Northwood; Kimberly (Randy) Behrends and Marcus (Sarah) Peterson all of Mason City; Ryan Pixley of Palm Dale, Calif.; Justin Pixley, Jason Pixley and Chelsea Pixley; great-grandchildren, Dustin Pixley, of Clear Lake, Seth Pixley, of Grafton, Lauren and Brandon Severson, of Northwood, Quincy and Chase, of Mason City; sisters, Myrtle (Oscar) Berge, of Osage, Carol (Erling) Brudvig, of Scarville; Mavis (Marvin) Klouse, of Austin, Minn.; Laurene (Duane) Groe, of Hayward, Minn.; sister-in-law, Nina (Harlan) Anderson, of Ellendale, Minn.; sister-in-law, Virginia (Russell) Perry, of Cedar Falls and many nieces and nephews.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband John; daughter, Sandra in infancy; son Jerry; son-in-law, Dennis Peterson; brother, Harlan Anderson; brothers-in-law, Duane Groe and Oscar Berge; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Verna Mae Pixley.

Arrangements are with the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in Northwood, 641-324-1121.
