Marcella Anderson, 85, of Northwood, died Saturday (Mar. 31, 2007) at the Viking Manor.

Funeral services were held at 10 am. Wednesday, April 4, at the Elk Creek Lutheran Church with Rev. Tom Martin officiating. Burial was in the Elk Creek Cemetery.

Marcella was born on April 30, 1921, in rural Kensett, the daughter of Joseph and Eva (McHenry) Bosch. She was baptized at the Sacred Heart Church in Manly.

Marcella attended school in Kensett. She was a member of her high school band, which participated in the first "Band Festival" in Mason City. She graduated in 1939 from Kensett High School.

Marcella was united in marriage to Alvin Anderson on Feb. 17, 1950, at the home of her parents.

They farmed in rural Kensett until Alvin retired in 1972, due to failing health. They moved to a house in Northwood.

Marcella was a long-time member of the Elk Creek Lutheran Church. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School.

Marcella worked at B & K Lumber in Northwood for several years. She served on the Lutheran Retirement Home Board.

She enjoyed playing cards, board games, cooking and baking, getting together with her family and friends, especially during the holidays.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law Margaret Sigmond, Northwood and Lynnea (Bosch) Smith, Mason City; nephew Lonnie Bosch and wife Kim, Rockwell; nieces Deborah (Bosch) McDonald and husband Del, Weslaco, Texas; Lori (Bosch) Sprung and husband Theodore, Swaledale; Sheri (Bosch) Sprung and husband Charles, Mason City; Julie (Bosch) Hansen and husband Michael, Rockwell; great nephew Bob Bosch and wife Deborah, Rockford; Joseph Sprung, Swaledale; Jonathan and Jordan Hansen, Rockwell; Ethan and Evan Sprung, Mason City; great nieces Krystle Bosch and fiancée Adam Allison, Meridian, Idaho; Rebecca (Sprung) Rother and husband Ryan, Latimer; Michaela Hansen, Rockwell; great-great nephews Nathaniel and Alexander Bosch, Rockford; great-great niece Rose Rother, Latimer.
