MASON CITY, IOWA - Clarence J. "Oley" Olson, 64, of 14 Oak Dr., died Saturday (Nov. 25, 1995) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia Ave., with the Rev. Merlin Ackerson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites at the graveside by the Mason City Memorial Association.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 119 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be given to the Clarence J. Olson Memorial Fund.

Clarence J. Olson was born the son of Clarence G. and Alice (Grefe) Olson on March 28, 1931, at Manly. As a youngster, Clarence moved with his family to Mason City where he attended and graduated from Mason City High School in 1949. He served in the Korean War from November 1951, to August 1953.

Clarence married Bonnie Hubacher on April 15, 1952, at the First United Methodist Church, Mason City. After returning from the service, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years and retired in 1978. They then moved to Pella where he was the assistant manager at Super Value for 16 years and retired in March of 1993. Clarence and Bonnie then returned to Mason City in March of 1993.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, V.F.W. and American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Olson, Mason City; one daughter, Kathie Burditt and husband, Ken, Ames; his parents, Clarence G. and Alice Olson, Mason City; two brothers, Richard Olson and wife, Delores, Mason City, and Roger Olson and wife, Shirley, Pella; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and a sister, Alice Ann Ditch in 1994.
