Warren "Ole" Wayne Perkins, age 78, of Northwood, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at St. Mary's, Rochester, Minnesota.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 4, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett. Rev. Allan Stoa officiated and burial was in the Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood.

Warren was born to Clifford and Ida (Johnson) Perkins on February 19, 1924, on a farm near Meltonville. He was baptized and confirmed at the Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter and was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett. He graduated from the Otranto High School in 1941. Warren was united in marriage to Dorothy Carlson on March 18, 1944.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946 in the Pacific Theatre and occupied China. He farmed near Otranto and then moved to a farm north of Bolan in 1950. Warren also worked for Ralston Purina as an outside salesman. He later managed the Rath Feed Store in Otranto until a car accident left him a paraplegic in 1972.

In 1976, he and his wife moved to Northwood where he lived until the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dorothy; three daughters; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd "Jack" Perkins and wife, Irma of Northwood; a sister, Mildred Watt James of Austin, Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Nona Wilson of Arizona and Pearl Carlson of Pasco, Washington; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Glassell and Doris Hollerud Lee; and a brother, Clinton "Happy" Perkins.
